The proposed design for a breakfast/lunch café would provide a place to gather for a quick (but high quality) bite to eat during business hours in a context of a bustling neighborhood commercial district.
The design of the space evolved from the idea of a brief and lively dining. Mostly functioning as a place to eat quickly and go, rather than just take out. The dining area utilized counter height seating and some outdoor space on the sidewalk/streetscape. The design of the waiting area, menu boards and register/food counter areas are clean, minimal in form and material and aid in the effortless flow of ordering and pickup, which was critical to the café’s function. The design also included opening up the front storefront area with full transparency to allow natural light into the space.
